Illustrated with Bigelow's bold linocut art, Sisters of Interment is a series of interconnected stories about the odd characters who live just on the edge of reality. You will meet "Kid Kelly," based on a real life alcoholic boxer. "Desert Mushrooms" is a story based on the author's viewing of archival films of nuclear tests, while accounts of cattle mutilations in the newspaper during the 1960-70s is the basis for "Jackson Pollock's Cow." "The Color Orange" is about two brothers, now deceased, who lived on welfare, collected junk to make folk art, and drank a lot. "The Writing Lesson" is based on Draw Me matchbook covers found on the counters of truck stop restaurants.

Pour le spectacle de fin d'année, Myriam sera la fille au grand coeur. Margot fera plutôt le chef des fleurs. Mais Myriam taquine Margot parce que dans la pièce, elle chante qu'elle aime Martin. Et c'est embêtant, parce que c'est vrai ... Dans le local au bout du corridor, un miroir renvoie l'image de Margot. Ce n'est pas vraiment elle, c'est Morgane son reflet en plus coquin. Le temps de le dire et Margot se fait aspirer de l'autre côté du miroir, du côté du pays de la Bisbille. Pendant que Margot cherche l'issue de ce pays où la chicane et les insultes sont de mise, Morgane a le temps de distribuer des injures et de faire mettre Margot en punition. Margot ou Morgane, personne n'a pu faire la différence. Morgane a même appelé Mylène "Patate poilue"! Finalement, ce n'est pas si mal d'être coquine de temps en temps, conclue Margot. -- Un clin d'oeil au monde fantaisiste de Lewis Carroll où l'auteur puise son inspiration. Le texte est simple et illustré de manière vivante à la plume. [SDM].
