About this book

Red Rover, the blackest of black ops teams, is finished -- betrayed on a mission to capture and interrogate a mysterious Saudi deep in Pakistan. One of the team was killed, the remaining two barely escaped alive. Now, the unit has been shut down and Greg Whitman and Felix Orteno are left adrift, wondering what went wrong. Into their midst comes Charlize Daou, a brilliant, wildly talented arms expert, who becomes the reason -- and supplies the means -- to resurrect their mission. Disobeying orders, they secretly set out to find the Saudi -- the first step in a perilous journey that will lead them to the dark heart of a terrifying conspiracy that threatens to change the balance of power across the globe.

The Kings of Clonmel

When mankind seeks protection from the world's many dangers, they put their faith in warriors, kings, gods, and even money. In the neighboring kingdom of Clonmel, a mysterious cult has sprung up, promising defense against lawless marauders in exchange for people's riches. Their sermons are attracting audiences from miles around, but there's a dark side to this seemingly charitable group, prompting Halt, WIll and Horace to investigate. What the trio uncovers could threaten the safety of not only Clonmel, but their homeland of Araluen as well. **Books in this series** 1. [The Ruins of Gorlan][1] 2. [The Burning Bridge][2] 3. Merlin's Mirror

André Norton

A different telling of the old legends/myths of Merlin and King Arthur with the mysterious Sky Folk and The Dark Ones, both star fairing races that strive to have mastery over the Earth and its people through advanced technology and esper powers. Sir Lancelot is omitted from this tale and there are other differences with names, places and characters. Were this book written as a fresh tale with no connection to the old legends and with new character names, it would have been a very good read, but as it is, much flavor and enjoyment is lacking from the usually high quality of Ms. Norton's works.

The old evils, the Instrumentalities from the Time Before Time, have begun to ooze back into the world and Piper Hecht's sister Heris and his living ancestor Cloven Februaren, the Ninth Unknown, have made Piper part of their fight against the return of the dark god Kharoulke the Windwalker.

The Key of the Keplian

Andre Norton and Lyn McConchie

All of Witch World knows to fear the hated, fire-eyed Keplian horses who lure riders to their deaths. All that is, save for one young Native American girl new to Witch World, who rescues a Keplian mare and her foal and discovers an awesome truth--the Keplians were created to serve light, not darkness, and to ride with humans. This is the first in a new trilogy.
