Le cadre politique commun permet de mettre en évidence l'incidence du rapport à la langue nationale à partir des différences entre Suisse française et alémanique. Il est montré ici qu'avoir une langue standardisée ou un parler n'est pas d'abord une différence linguistique, mais une manière distincte d'établir un rapport à soi en tant que collectivité politique.
