Filled with real-life applications and helpful tips, enlivened by instructive, wryly humorous cartoons, Meetings That Matter will be a boon to supervisors, managers, professionals, community and political leaders, and anyone else who wants to get the most out of the meetings they conduct or attend. *Meetings That Matter* is one of the Wiley Self-Teaching Guides. It's been tested, rewritten, and retested until we're sure you can easily apply its principles and methods. And it's individualized so you work at your own pace. Throughout the book there are dozens of Applications which pose practical problems. Each chapter also includes a Summary Application that takes you step-by-step through a real-life meeting situation, as well as a Checklist which you can photocopy for your personal use in evaluating and improving meetings that you attend.

An earnest journey from heartache to heartthrob and all the emotions along the way; at once an old-fashioned love story and a cautionary tale of self-reinvention.In San Diego County, it hasn't rained in 580 days. But for weatherman Andy Dunne, everything else is changing fast...Only a few weeks ago, he was a newly divorced, slightly overweight meteorologist for an obscure satellite radio station, hiding his secret love for a colleague, the beautiful--and very much married--Hillary Hsing. But nearly overnight, Andy has landed a new gig, flying a magic carpet in a bizarre live-action children's TV show. So what is affable, basically decent Andy Dunne going to do now that he can do practically anything he wants? With a parade of hot moms begging for his autograph and a family that needs his help more than ever, Andy has a lot of choices. First, though, there's this thing with Hillary, their heated text messages, a long-awaited forecast for rain -- and a few other surprises he never saw coming...From the Trade Paperback edition.

Enter the diary of sixteen-year-old Haley, who is in her last year of high school (The Greatest Year of My Life, or TGYML). Haley likes to think she's just a normal girl, plagued with all the normal doubts of a too-smart-for-her-own-good, slightly hypochondriac, hickey-prone teenager. But partway through the year, disaster strikes: Haley comes down with chickenpox; her best friend Jules won't speak to her; the object of her affections, a boy named J.T., won't even look at her; and worst of all, her harmless hippie Dad is in some mysterious trouble with the law. In desperation, Haley turns to the Ouija board and tries to communicate with the Other Side, but this leads to a further, unexpected complication: Why does the dead boy she channels seem more attractive than the real boy who wants to spend time with her? The Healing Time of Hickeys takes the reader on a dizzying and wryly funny journey to discover the answer to this question, and several more that Haley thinks she keeps hidden from everyone.

J.M.A. Biesheuvel

- T. Zijlstra. © Biblion
