by Lynne Cherry and Mark Plotkin (1999)
As someone who loves Mother Earth, this book has so much insight to offer on how truly important the Earth is. Plotkin is under a shamans wing, learning the secrets and science behind the native medicinal practices of the Amazon rainforest. He uses what he learns to open an Amazonian medicines research lab and send a portion of profits back to the amazing tribes that contributed to his knowledge. An insanely inspiring and true story.
