Why not today?

About this book

I am not an expert on fear, nor pretending to be an expert on anything. However, my fears at times have gotten the best of me. Let me be clear about something. This book is not about my journey as a country music entertainer, but it has everything to do with being able to achieve that dream. This book came to life because of my overwhelming desire to help others who struggle with the same issues that many of us have lived with, and still live with today. You are the reason this book was written. Let me help you to achieve your dreams. It starts by facing your fears. We all have fears that control us. It is my belief that if we can control our fears we can accomplish anything. If we master our fears, we master our future. When we are born and when we are little kids we are, for the most part, fearless. Outside circumstances, introduced to us throughout our lives, begin the process of developing fears. When we have a fear of something, we have a reason for it. Something happened to us. Maybe it was something we saw, or a reaction we witnessed from someone we loved. This is where our deepest, most strongly rooted fears come from. We can push past these fears. Many years ago I started believing that we should face our fears instead of running from them. As part of this hard-won knowledge, I'd like to share some stories from my life that caused me to start living a life of fear.

Carol Orsborn

Sometimes you carry a problem around for ages and think there is no resolution for it. If you can clear one day to approach the problem in the innovative and ultimately satisfying method put forth in Carol Orsborn's book, you may well find success. Be warned, though, where the experience takes you may not be where you thought it would. Giving your problem a full day of your attention is showing your respect for the problem's place in your life and for your own willingness to clear it from your future, which is a form of self respect. Good luck!

Do you (or does someone you know)...--Apologize frequently or for things you are not responsible for?--Get preoccupied with what other people think of you?--Become unhappy when your partner isn't happy?--Feel worried or fretful so often it seems normal?--Often not know what you want?--Constantly second-guess yourself? Chronic Niceness affects multitudes, causing severe anxiety and depression, crippling self-esteem, and undermining and destroying relationshipsAnxious to Please reveals the primary psychological cause of Chronic Niceness--Anxious Attachment. Anxious Attachment drives the Nice Person to accommodate, acquiesce and avoid conflict. Nice People take what they're given rather than asking for what they want, often sacrificing relationship, careers and their own integrity.Anxious to Please presents seven powerful practices designed to bring about: resilient self-esteem; a happier and calmer emotional life; a reality-based optimism for the future; fulfilling sex; and satisfying relationships.

It's the little things in life that make a big difference!Replace a soft drink with water at just one meal-say, lunch. Over the course of a year, you will drink approximately forty gallons more water, avoid consuming up to 50,000 calories, and save as much as $500. Indeed, just as the stray coins you toss into a jar each evening gradually build into an amount you can use to actually purchase something sub-stantial, small changes-of any kind-can really add up! In Small Change, husband-and-wife writing team Susan and Larry Terkel offer readers a gentle yet powerful program for making significant changes in their lives based on three simple principles:- Small changes are easier than big makeovers. (Each week add just one private dinner with your mate to your schedule and see your relationship improve by leaps and bounds.)- Small changes add up to big benefits over time. (Smile just a little each day and, over time, watch your stress levels decrease, your immune system grow stronger, and your relationships prosper.)- Small changes are more consistent with human nature and evolution. (After all, in the end, the tortoise did beat the hare.)With an emphasis on daily habits, and some simple recipes for improving them, this wise little book outlines a fresh perspective on the timeless quest for sustainable self-improvement and a (relatively painless!) pathway to a better you.
